The Selfridge Air National Guard Base Open House and Air Show is an opportunity for your Hometown Air Force to open the gates to the public and share our capabilities in action while meeting the service members who fly and maintain the aircraft.  The open house and air show features a large selection of flying and static displays representing aircraft and equipment from the Michigan National Guard, the U.S. Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Department of Homeland Security, well as civilian and historic military aircraft there will be vendors, recruiting displays, and more.  Conveniently priced for FREE, this event is for families and individuals of all ages, and is one show you won’t want to miss!

July 9-10, 2022. The gates are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day of the two-day show.

General admission is FREE!!  There are a limited number of premium seating options available for purchase while supply lasts.

Please visit our directions page on this site. General Admission should access the base via the Selfridge Main and South Gates. Once inside the base, follow the guidance of traffic attendants to the closest parking lot.

NO. RV Parking is not allowed.

Early! Gates open at 8 a.m. We suggest arriving in plenty of time before the performances are scheduled to begin. There WILL be traffic so don’t cut it close.

FREE general admission will enter through the Selfridge Main and South Gates and follow the traffic attendants to the parking areas. 

Yes, ADA parking is available.

No, walk-ins are not permitted. You must use a parking pass to get a space and attend the show.  

NO. This air show is at a military airfield and you cannot fly-in.

A list of performers is constantly updated on the performer webpage. Unfortunately, the schedule is not solidified until the morning of the air show to allow for security, safety, weather, and operational concerns.

Yes, cameras and video recorders are allowed and encouraged to capture the memories, please see our complete list of prohibited items to know what you should leave at home.

It takes more than a few drops of rain to stop the Selfridge Air Show! The air show will take place – rain or shine both Saturday and Sunday. Air show performers have high, low, and flat routines to adapt to varying weather conditions. Schedules may be altered or delayed for periods of time if heavy rainfall occurs. Please note that there are no refunds or rain checks for purchased tickets.

Motorized scooters and wheelchairs for disabled patrons are allowed in the air show grounds. Personal golf carts are NOT allowed. Please be aware that the crowds may be heavy, maneuvering may be difficult, and that there is no place at the show to plug in and recharge.

Yes, you may bring a lawn chair or folding chair. 

Due to security concerns, cooler and large bags are not permitted on the show site. Small coolers for the purpose of carrying doctor prescribed, life-preserving medications are permitted. All personal handbags, totes, diaper bags, etc., are subject to search at the entry gates. 

For the safety of attendees and the animals, pets are not allowed on show grounds. Certified service animals are permitted. 

No. Selfridge Air National Guard Base is a smoke free and vape-free venue. Any guests found smoking or vaping on the grounds will be asked to leave.

Due to security and safety concerns, tents, beach umbrellas, awnings, and the like are not permitted on show grounds. 

The air show will have a variety of food and beverages available for purchase, including hotdogs, hamburgers, pitas, Philly cheese steaks, sausage, chicken finger & fries, nachos, water, soda, and beer.

Yes, medical personnel will be on site and a first aid center will be open. Please don’t hesitate to ask any air show personnel in uniform for medical assistance and they will point you in the right direction.

Yes. Both the General Admission and VIP area will have portable restrooms available in addition to ADA accessible units.

  • Ear protection for the kids (ear plugs, etc)
  • Sunglasses
  • Your camera (minus the bulky camera bag)
  • Something to sit on (blanket, lawn chair, stroller/wagon for the kiddos)
  • Money for food, drinks, and souvenirs
  • A fully charged phone for photos and videos
  • Water container (not glass). Fill stations for personal water containers will be available at no charge.

You must vacate the lot as soon as possible after the conclusion of the show.  Cars left in the lot more than one hour after the lot clears may be towed at owner’s expense.

When exiting the base after the airshow please follow the guidance of traffic attendants who will direct you to the nearest gate to exit the base.
